Housing stock
Gainesville has a relatively renter-heavy housing profile: only 39.2% of occupied units were owner-occupied in the Census Bureau’s 2020–2024 estimate, so replacement-window work may commonly involve rental or multifamily properties as well as detached homes. The city also contains older residential stock in the Historic Green Street district, where the public history identifies Victorian and Neo-Classical Revival residences dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
